Through the contemporary use of traditional cultural symbols and designs, translated to the Hip Hop visual aesthetic, the youth of SFJJC present a series of hand-painted denim jackets, utilizing the material as a painting canvas. Textile themes include love, sisterhood, cultural roots, justice, and historical figures who represent justice, cultural pride, and self-determination.
